The homeownership rate is pretty high (82%) and the average family income is about $48,600. Real estate is cool and very healthy for the time being. The median sales price for homes is $218,800 and the average apartment rent is $1,930 (2017).

Recreational opportunities abound along Venice’s 14 miles (22.5 kilometers) of white-sand beaches on the Gulf Coast, extending from Manasota Key to Casey Key. Venice is counted among the most alluring and easy-living cities in the state of Florida, and Forbes magazine included it on their list of the top 25 places to retire to in the United States.
